Ski your way, everyday!

If you love skiing and would like to spend more time on ski weekends, then you should learn to save your precious money when you go skiing. There are certain ropes that you need to learn to help you save money so that you can ski often. In order to fit more kilometers in every penny that you spend and to make the most of your ski weekend, there are certain guidelines that you need to follow.
A good option is to buy skiing equipments and apparel in fall or spring. The most economical months in fall are October and November and the ones in spring are March and April. Buying equipments and skiing attire in the rest of the months is a costly affair.

Unsold goods from winter and spring are stocked in the shelves in fall. The chances of you getting the best goods is not much during off season but it is lighter on the pocket as you get good discount on such goods and if you are lucky enough you may get them at wholesale rates. This is because the shops need to clear unsold stock to make room for new equipment and clothes.

If you want to buy skis to use on your ski weekend, you are more likely to get the best quality skis left over from the previous year in late October or early November.

It is not advisable to go in for cheap and low quality skis though. Only the best quality branded skis can help you to ski more on your ski weekend and to buy these, you have to be sure to buy them before they run out of stock. Most ski shops selling these expensive skis keep a less stock of them.

Remember that your ski weekend need not be a fashion parade. Ski jackets and pants in neutral colours like red, black, and blue are the best bet. These colours do not fade easily and hence last longer. Colourful and trendy clothes are usually more expensive. But trends change at the drop of a hat. Instead of spending a fortune on fashionable clothes you better spend it on skiing more on your ski weekend. This does not mean you buy poor quality clothes. This again would not help as they will wear out quickly. Good quality clothes although expensive initially tend to prove economical in the long run due to their durability. If there is a ski show in your area, attend it at the tail end. You will get great discounts.

Another good idea is to replace one item in your skiing wardrobe each year. Do not go in for complete overhauls. This way you spend money carefully and utilise it on your ski weekend.

Skiing during the weekdays is also a good way to save money as rates are less during weekdays.

It is better if you get your own lunch from home. That way you save money and get the required energy to ski more on your ski weekend.
